Dubai: A medical team at Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) removed 51 magnets from a three-year-old girl’s stomach, local media reported today.

The child is said to have swallowed the magnets while playing. Doctors extracted the magnets in a three-and-half hour long surgery, repairing multiple tears in her stomach and intestines.

The child was sent home after seven days of recovery in hospital.
