House in Ireland on sale - for just $7

And what if you were given a chance to buy a home for just under $7? With a little bit of luck, of course.

Imelda Collins is offering her charming countryside cottage in County Leitrim, Ireland, to one fortunate winner through an online raffle. For just $6.50, participants have the opportunity to own a fully renovated, fully furnished home nestled on 1.75 acres of scenic land.

Known as “Butterfly Cottage,” the two-bedroom residence underwent a comprehensive renovation in 2022. It boasts a spacious living and dining area with a vaulted ceiling and skylight, a modern kitchen, bathroom, and ample storage, including attic space and large wardrobes. The south-facing property ensures sunlight throughout the day and features generous front and back gardens, a large patio, and a meadow adorned with mature trees.

Collins, originally from Cork and currently working with Ireland’s Health Service Executive, was inspired to raffle her home after observing similar initiatives online. She views this as an opportunity to address the housing crisis by offering someone the chance to own a home affordably.

If the minimum number of tickets isn’t sold, the winner will receive a cash prize amounting to half of the ticket sales.
