Day 2 of UAE-India Property Show sees steady stream of visitors

The UAE-India Property Show at Millennium Plaza Downtown Hotel on Shaikh Zayed Road attracted a steady stream of visitors on the final day. People from across the emirates came to the show to explore a variety of residential and commercial options in India as well as the UAE.

With exhibitors offering affordable housing, villas, luxury properties and investment options in mega developments, the show has something for everyone.

For Hameed Fayaz, Sales Manager at DP World, it was a valuable opportunity to do some well-needed market research to carry out his future plans. He has been actively looking at investment opportunities both in Dubai and in his home state, Chennai.

“Dubai is booming and with the new Al Maktoum International Airport coming up, it’s a good time for expatriates to invest in property so that they can get a good return on investment in the years to come,” he says.

In the market for a townhouse, Fayaz is considering buying a Dh2 million property in Dubai to ensure a Golden Visa for his family that includes three daughters.

One of the reasons Hameed came to the UAE-India Property Show was to get better clarity in terms of investment destinations and maintain his motivation.

Twenty developers from India and the UAE are part of the inaugural show, which started yesterday and runs until 7pm today. Exhibitors from India are showcasing their flagship projects in Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Delhi NCR.

Sreenivasu Konda, Deputy General Manager, IT at Aries Group of Companies, attended the show to explore opportunities in commercial property in Hyderabad, India.

“We have a residential unit back home, so I want to diversify and invest in a commercial property,” says Konda. “I don’t want to run after maintenance and all that hassle. I want to invest and then forget. So I am interested in commercial properties that will give me a better return than the usual rental return of 3 per cent.”

Konda has been making investments in property through referrals and informal channels. He says events such as the UAE-India Property Show offer a professional setting to find out about the market first-hand.

Managing Director of Dubai-based Glaze Services, Shyam Agarwalla, who is also a small-time developer, found the UAE-India Property Show to be very useful.

“There’s a good mix of exhibitors and it’s well organised and professionally managed,” he says. With plots of lands in Bengaluru, he came to learn more about the market rates and new offerings from developers.

Exhibitors at the UAE-India Property Show are also offering special discounts worth up to a million rupees, deals, and gold coins to UAE investors.
