A married woman and her lover were tied to a tree and beaten and filmed in India for having an affair.
The woman’s in-laws found out about the affair and decided to punish the couple. The incident happened in the village of Ranika, Haryana, according to an international news website.
Some of the villagers filmed the abuse and shared it online.
Reportedly on November 2, 2019, she went with her lover to her in-laws’ house to drop off her two children. The in laws immediately realised that the woman was in an illicit relationship.
Then the family members decided to drag the woman and her lover outside and tied them to a tree in the village.
The duo then got beaten up which prompted other villagers to gather around. Some from the crowd filmed the incident and posted the footage on social media.
Following the video’s circulation on social media, police officers arrived at the scene to find the two lovers still tied to the tree. The lovers did not explain what happened and left.
However, some of the villagers told officers about what had happened.
Station house officer (SHO) Mahendra Singh revealed that a case has not been registered. He added that the police will take further action once they receive a complaint.
