UAE weather alert: Hail, heavy rain, and thunderstorm hit Ras Al Khaimah

Dubai: Heavy rain hit some areas of eastern regions in UAE on Sunday, August 10, at around 4.30 pm, while other parts of the country saw cloudy to partly cloudy skies. Dusty conditions with low visibility were also reported in some parts of Dubai. Heavy rain was reported in Shawka in Ras Al Khaimah. According to the latest weather alert, there is a chance of convective (rainy) cloud formation associated with rainfall over some eastern and southern areas until 8 pm today, especially Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah and Al Ain.

Heavy rain and hail were reported in the south of Shawka, Ras Al Khaimah, with heavy rain also affecting the areas of Udiya and Shaba.

"The country is affected by an extension of a surface low pressure system accompanied by humid southeasterly winds, with an extension of a low pressure system from the northwest and a flow in the upper air levels with the formation of clouds associated with moderate to heavy rainfall over scattered areas in the country. Motorists must drive carefully, as strong winds at times may suddenly cause dusty weather conditions and sandstorms, reducing visibility."

According to AccuWeather, temperatures across the UAE are expected to reach highs of 43°C to 47°C, with lows averaging between 31°C and 35°C. The 'RealFeel' temperature in Dubai is currently 43°C.

Weather forecast for tomorrow, Monday, August 11, 2025:

Fair to partly cloudy at times, with a probability of some convective cloud formation eastward by afternoon. Light to moderate Southeasterly to Northeasterly winds, freshening at times during daytime, causing blowing dust, with a speed of 10 – 25 reaching 35 Km/hr. The sea will be slight in the Arabian Gulf and in the Oman Sea.
