Dubai: The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has warned residents of soaring temperatures across the UAE this week, as hot southerly winds drive a sharp rise in heat across the country.

According to today’s forecast, weather conditions will remain generally fair and partly cloudy at times. However, internal regions are expected to sizzle with temperatures climbing between 42°C and 46°C, while coastal and island areas may see highs of 40°C to 45°C. Mountain regions will be relatively cooler, ranging between 31°C and 38°C.

On Monday, the mercury peaked at 45.9°C in Al Shawamekh (Abu Dhabi) at 1:15 PM and in Tawiyah (Fujairah) at 2 PM — among the highest temperatures recorded so far this season.

In response to the intensifying heat, the NCM has issued preventive health guidelines urging the public to:

  • Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water and fluids,

  • Avoid direct exposure to sunlight during peak hours,

  • Wear light-colored, breathable cotton clothing,

  • Use protective accessories like hats and sunglasses.

Light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly winds are expected, reaching speeds of up to 30 km/h, while the sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea will remain slight.

The NCM releases latest city-wise weather update amid rising temperatures across the UAE.
