Humidity, mist, and intense sunshine to dominate the UAE, stay safe as temperatures soar
Dubai: The UAE is bracing for a scorching hot weekend, with authorities urging residents to take precautions as temperatures across the country soar to extreme levels.
According to AccuWeather, Dubai is experiencing very warm and sunny conditions today, with a high of 41°C and a nighttime low of 35°C under clear skies. The current temperature stands at 34°C, though it feels more like 37°C due to intense humidity and solar exposure. Forecasts warn that by Friday, temperatures could spike to 46°C, prompting strong advisories to stay indoors during peak heat hours.
Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi is facing similar conditions, with highs reaching 42°C and a nighttime low of 33°C, under partly cloudy skies. While the mercury currently reads 32°C, the real-feel temperature has soared to a stifling 43°C. Like Dubai, Abu Dhabi is also expected to hit 46°C on Friday, making heat safety a top priority.
The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a broader outlook, forecasting generally fair weather across the UAE today. Clouds are expected to develop over eastern regions by the afternoon, with increased humidity overnight and into Friday morning, raising the risk of mist formation, especially in coastal areas.
According to the NCM, internal regions will see maximum temperatures between 42°C and 47°C, with coastal and island areas reaching 40°C to 44°C, and mountain regions experiencing highs between 30°C and 36°C.
The highest temperature recorded yesterday was a scorching 47.4°C in Mezaira, Al Dhafra, at 3:30 p.m.
Light to moderate southwesterly to northeasterly winds are expected to blow across the country, occasionally freshening to 35 km/h, providing brief and limited relief from the sweltering heat.
Authorities are urging residents and visitors to:
· Stay hydrated and avoid prolonged sun exposure.
· Limit outdoor activities during midday hours.
· Keep vulnerable populations such as children, the elderly, and pets safe indoors.
