Dubai: If you're stepping outside today, don’t forget your sunglasses and maybe a dust mask. Sunny skies and dusty winds are sweeping across the UAE this afternoon, creating hazy conditions and limited visibility in some open areas.

According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), the country saw a refreshing dip in temperature early this morning, with a cool 21.7°C recorded at Jais Mountain in Ras Al Khaimah at 5:45am, a rare treat in August.

Weekend weather forecast

But for most of the UAE, it’s still a hot, hazy, and breezy end to the week. The NCM forecasts fair to partly cloudy weather from Saturday through Monday, with occasional cloud cover in southern regions.

Winds will blow from the southwest to northwest at speeds of 10–25 km/h, occasionally gusting up to 40 km/h, which may kick up dust and sand, especially in desert and open areas.

Drivers and outdoor adventurers should stay alert for reduced visibility and fluctuating conditions, especially during peak afternoon hours.

If you’re heading to the coast, marine conditions remain calm with slight to moderate waves in the Arabian Gulf, and slight in the Oman Sea, making it a decent weekend for beach walks or boat rides, if the dust settles.

The NCM continues to monitor conditions and updates high and low temperatures across UAE cities daily. For now, expect more of the same — dusty skies, a few clouds, and that elusive mountain chill if you're lucky enough to be in Ras Al Khaimah.
