UAE unveils drone network for real-time emergency response

Abu Dhabi: The Technology Innovation Institute (TII) has announced the development of an integrated system designed to provide real-time aerial data by unifying the operations of autonomous, long-range drones powered by swarm-technology under a single operational framework.

The pilot project, launched in collaboration with ADNOC and supported by ASPIRE, aims to test and deploy coordinated drone fleets capable of rapid aerial surveillance during disasters and emergency situations.

Under the new system, drones stationed at ADNOC sites will be able to launch instantly and stream live video to the company’s headquarters the moment an incident is triggered. 

For wider-area monitoring or remote emergencies, long-range autonomous drones will be deployed from ADNOC’s network of drone hubs, supported by smaller drones linked to the command center, creating a nationwide coverage capability.

In large-scale incidents, drone swarms can be rapidly deployed from a mother platform to scan vast areas within minutes, locate individuals in distress, and provide communication and data support.

The project is set to significantly reduce response times and minimiSe risks to frontline crews.
