Dubai is gearing up for one of its biggest community fitness events of the year, with several key roads set to close for the Dubai Run 2025 on Sunday, November 23. The temporary closures will support thousands of participants taking part in the Dubai Fitness Challenge’s flagship race.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) confirmed that the traffic plan will be in place from 3am to 10am, urging motorists to plan ahead and allow extra travel time.

Roads closed for the Dubai Run

According to the RTA, the following routes will be fully or partially closed during the event:

  • A stretch of Sheikh Zayed Road, between the Trade Centre Roundabout and Al Hadiq Road bridge

  • Lower Financial Centre Street, between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road

  • One-way direction of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard

  • One-way lane of Al Sukook Street

  • Parking areas parallel to Sheikh Zayed Road will also remain closed for the duration of the run

These closures are part of the large-scale traffic management plan needed to secure the running route and ensure the safety of all participants.

Alternative routes

To ease congestion, the RTA has advised drivers to use the following roads:

  • Upper Financial Centre Street

  • Zabeel Palace Road

  • Al Wasl Road

  • Al Khail Road

A major fitness event

Dubai Run, one of the most anticipated activities under the Dubai Fitness Challenge, is expected to draw thousands of residents and visitors. With the city transforming its major roads into a giant running track for the morning, authorities are encouraging the public to use alternative routes, plan their trips early, and consider public transport where possible.

Normal traffic flow will resume after 10am.
