Dubai: Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has rolled out an upgraded Nol pay app, featuring a fresh, modern design and a host of advanced functionalities aimed at making public transport payments faster, easier, and more convenient.

The revamped app reflects RTA’s push to enhance user experience and strengthen its position as Dubai’s leading digital payment solution for riders.

The new version aligns with RTA’s unified digital ecosystem and Dubai’s ‘Services 360’ policy, streamlining procedures, reducing transaction times, and supporting the government’s Zero Bureaucracy Programme. This upgrade also marks the first phase in RTA’s shift to Account Based Ticketing (ABT) technology.

Key new features include:

Manage family members’ nol cards: apply for children, link or deactivate cards, and recharge balances individually.

Schedule automatic top-ups for family cards with customisable amounts and intervals.

Receive reminders for low balances, expiring cards, or travel pass renewals.

Instant top-ups, real-time balance checks, and on-the-go travel pass purchases.

Additional services, including mobile phone balance top-ups.

Digitised Nol cards

The app now supports digitised nol cards on Samsung and Huawei devices, enabling quick tap-and-pay across public transport and retail outlets without opening the app. By the end of 2024, more than 33,000 digital cards had been sold — a 460% increase from the previous year — with 1.5 million app downloads, up over 150% compared to 2023.
