Motorists urged to check revised peak, low-peak and off-peak hours

Dubai: Salik has issued a notice confirming altered toll gate schedules for Sunday, November 16, in partnership with the Dubai T100 Triathlon. The temporary arrangement aims to ease traffic flow citywide as the major sports gathering unfolds. Motorists are urged to review the updated tariff arrangements, which may help them avoid disruption throughout the day.
Under the revised structure, the day is split into peak, low-peak, and off-peak sections. Peak-hour charges will come into effect between 6:00 AM and 10:00 AM, then resume from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM—timeframes that correspond to predicted heavier traffic on the roads. At other periods, a lower rate will apply for low-peak intervals, promoting a more even distribution of vehicles as the triathlon progresses.
Low-peak periods will see the Salik toll enforced from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and again from 8:00 PM until 1:00 AM the following day. Off-peak charges—intended for those travelling late at night or during the early morning—will cover the window from 1:00 AM to 6:00 AM. Defining these distinct periods, Salik is aiming to relieve pressure on the road network and keep vehicles moving as the Dubai T100 Triathlon takes place.
These temporary measures reflect broader municipal efforts to accommodate large-scale sports occasions while limiting disturbance to city residents and guests. Coordination between Salik representatives and event organisers demonstrates an integrated strategy for managing city travel during high-profile public gatherings, highlighting continuous adjustments in Dubai’s traffic management approach.
