Dubai: Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence, arrived in India on Tuesday morning for an official visit, landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi.

During his visit, Sheikh Hamdan shares a captivating photograph with his 16.9 million Instagram followers, showcasing a vibrant art form, chenda melam, which originates from the state of Kerala.

This traditional performance is characterised by exhilarating rhythms produced by instruments such as the chenda and elathalam. Chenda, a traditional percussion instrument, has played an integral role in the culture and festivals of Kerala for 300 centuries.

Sheikh Hamdan’s photograph captured the spirit of this cherished cultural tradition, offering a poignant glimpse into the unique and colourful tapestry of Kerala’s heritage.
