Sharjah: The Sharjah Government Communication Award (SGCA) is back for its 12th edition, inviting submissions in four special categories focused on children, adolescents and youth.
Selected from a total of 23 categories, including Best Innovative Project Targeting Children and Adolescents, and Best Youth Initiative in Government Communication.

These awards reflect SGCA’s commitment to encouraging creative projects that empower young generations across communities. They aim to give young voices a bigger platform, support new talent, and encourage positive social and personal growth.

Award honours creative initiatives

The Best Innovative Project Targeting Children and Adolescents category celebrates initiatives that help children and teens grow, learn, and take responsibility – whether through educational apps, books, games or media.

The Best Youth Initiative in Government Communication recognises youth-led projects that use creative communication to solve social challenges and boost public trust and transparency.
“Creating award categories for youth-led and youth-focused projects shows our belief in communication as a powerful way to raise awareness, build skills, and support innovation in a diverse and culturally rich society,” said Alya Al Suwaidi, Director of Sharjah Government Media Bureau.

The two subcategories under Best Communication Targeting Youth – Best Communication Programme Supporting Emerging Projects and Youth, and Best Campaigns Positively Impacting Youth Awareness and Practices – focus on supporting young entrepreneurs and campaigns that shape positive values and behaviours using modern digital tools.

“Young people today aren’t waiting for opportunities – they are creating them. They are changing how institutions and society connect through open, smart communication,” Alya noted.

With the support of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, the award continues to highlight meaningful ways to engage and empower communities. SGCA strengthens Sharjah’s role as a leader in modern government communication rooted in knowledge and community growth.

Entries open until July 24 via the official SGCA portal

SGCA 2025 honours projects that connect generations and cultures through smart communication – whether through campaigns, educational media, or empowering young entrepreneurs.
Last year, SGCA received more than 3,800 submissions from 44 countries. Submissions are open until July 24 via the official portal: https://gca.sgmb.ae/en.
