Eid prayer

The Eid prayer consists of two rak'ahs (units of prayer) and is performed shortly after sunrise, without a call to prayer (Adhan or Iqamah). The imam begins the first rak’ah with seven takbeerat (saying “Allahu Akbar”) and the second with five, followed by Qur’anic recitation in each unit.

Following the prayer, the imam delivers a brief sermon emphasising the values of gratitude, compassion, and community. Eid prayers are typically performed in large congregations, either at mosques or outdoor prayer grounds.

Across the UAE, preparations are underway to welcome worshippers. Authorities have designated numerous indoor and outdoor prayer sites to accommodate the large crowds expected. Additional measures have been put in place to manage traffic and ensure smooth entry and exit around major mosques and Eid Musallas.
