Raffles, deals, fireworks: Dubai announces grand celebration of Chinese Lunar New Year

Dubai: Dubai is set to ring in the Chinese Lunar New Year with grand festivities including dazzling fireworks, raffles with mega prizes, and exclusive deals.

The city-wide celebrations will take place from January 24 to February 2, offering residents and visitors a packed calendar of exciting events.

Dubai is transforming itself so everyone across the city to can experience one of the most important festivals in Chinese culture with a fusion of cultural entertainment, exclusive retail promotions at leading malls and lifestyle destinations, and specially curated menus with festive flavours at top restaurants for the celebrations, according to Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), which is organising the festivities.

Shoppers can win raffles across the city by spending Dh500 or more. Prizes include Dh50,000 in rewards at select locations, luxury cars, and premium giveaways such as watches and a grand prize.

Shoppers can enjoy citywide promotions, with offers on fashion, beauty, and lifestyle brands. Participating malls and venues across Dubai offer daily and weekly draws for those spending on their favourite brands or through partner apps.

From luxury labels to everyday essentials, Dubai’s malls also promise exclusive discounts and added benefits for visitors.

Fireworks will light up the sky at Global Village at 9pm on January 24, 25, 31, and February 1. Visitors can also enjoy cultural shows, laser displays, and family-friendly attractions like a newly launched Dragon Lake.

Food lovers can indulge in specially curated menus and festive dishes at leading restaurants across the city, offering authentic flavours to mark the season.

On January 26, Al Wasl Plaza at Expo City Dubai will host Layali Firdaus - A Lunar New Year Celebration- featuring a blend of classical and festive melodies by the Firdaus Orchestra. Tickets priced at Dh120 are now available for purchase.
