Dubai: Don’t miss the variety of programmes specially curated for the Eid Al Adha break, a top official in Dubai has reminded residents and visitors.

Speaking to Gulf News, Suhaila Ghubash, Vice-President, Festival Planning and Operations, Dubai Festivals and Retails Establishment (DFRE), said Dubai will be hosting spectacular fireworks, exciting live performances across the city, and star-studded concerts from Amr Diab, Sherine Abdel Wahab and Hussain Al Jasmi, among other events.

“Residents and visitors can also enjoy incredible promotions on shopping, F&B, and hotels for an all-round perfect holiday. And we’re bringing multiple chances to win big in raffles and draws happening throughout the city. Dubai’s favourite characters, of Modesh and Dana, will travel across the city as well, with special performances taking place every day,” said Suhaila.

She said residents and visitors should make the most of the Eid celebrations. “There are many exciting ways that residents and visitors in which they can make the most of the Eid break. They can catch the fireworks today and tomorrow at 9pm at RIVERLAND Dubai, in which the skies will come alive in a fantastic Eid firework show. Laser shows are happening every night of Eid at 7.30pm, 8.20pm, and 9.30pm,” she explained.

Suhaila said a spectacular schedule of musical performances will ensure that this Eid Al Adha is a memorable celebration for everyone. “All happening at Coca-Cola Arena, residents and visitors can enjoy live performances from Amr Diab on June 18, Hussain Al Jassmi and Sherine Abdel Wahab on June 21. Guests can also catch Umm Kulthum Hologram Al Atlal on June 18 at Dubai Opera,” she noted.

Retail promotions

Touching upon mall Activations and retail offers, she said shoppers can find countless special offers in malls across Dubai, with a multitude of stores promoting deals.

Also, traditional roaming entertainment by Emirati bands will ignite the spirit of Eid across the city’s shopping hubs, with special performances at Al Khawaneej Walk, Bluewaters Dubai, Circle Mall, City Centre Al Shindagha, City Centre Deira, City Centre Me’aisem, City Walk, Dubai Festival City Mall, Ibn Battuta Mall, Mall of Emirates, Nakheel Mall, and The Outlet Village. Additionally, Modesh and Dana will delight the young and young-at-heart with appearances across the city including Dubai Festival City, City Centre Mirdif, Dubai Parks and Resorts™, City Centre Me’aisem, The Outlet Village, Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Deira, My City Centre Al Barsha, Festival City Plaza, Ibn Battuta Mall, Al Seef, and Circle Mall,” she said.

According to her, residents and visitors can make the most of the long break across citywide hotels, with special seasonal promotions. “Hotels including Lapita Dubai Parks and Resorts, The H Hotel, Rixos Premium Dubai, Dusit Than, Khalidia Palace Hotel, Beach Walk Boutique Hotel, Millennium Plaza Downtown, Conrad Dubai, Beach Walk Hotel Jumeirah, The Lemon Tree Hotel, Asiana Grand Hotel Dubai, and Roda Beach Resort are offering ‘kids stay for free’ offers an huge discounts including 20 per cent discount on room rates, complimentary breakfast, guaranteed room upgrades, early check-in and late check-out, spa F&B vouchers,” she added.

What are the main raffles?

Suhaila said the Dubai Shopping Malls Group is also holding its annual Eid Al Adha raffle. “Shoppers who spend Dh200 across 18 participating community malls will receive a digital raffle ticket, with a chance to win cash prizes up to Dh200,000. There will be 22 winners in total, with draws taking place on the last three days of Eid. The Modesh Shopping Card brings another exciting chance to win. Those who purchase the card which costs Dh10 on the Dream Dubai app and website will be in with the chance of winning Dh300,000 in cash in the Eid Grand Prize raffle.

The Dubai Jewellery Group is bringing its highly anticipated annual draw back for another year at 150 participating jewellery outlets across Dubai. During Eid, 20 lucky customers who spend Dh1,000 or more stand the chance to win vouchers worth Dh5,000 each,” she explained.

Of course, special Eid menus will be offered to help everyone celebrate with delicious buffets featuring traditional Eid fare and curated Eid menus and authentic dishes.

“The city’s top attractions invite residents to create special memories this Eid at Dubai Dolphinarium, Burj Al Arab, The View at The Palm, Roxy Cinemas and Wild Wadi Waterpark,” she said.

Suhaila said Modesh and Dana will be traveling around the city with special performances happening daily at 4pm. On the first day of Eid, Modesh will appear at Dubai Festival City, City Centre Mirdif, Dubai Parks & Resorts, and City Centre Me’aisem. On day two, Modesh will be at The Outlet Village, Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Deira, and My City Centre Al Barsha. Then on the third day, fans can catch Modesh at Festival City Plaza, Ibn Battuta Mall, Al Seef, and Circle Mall. Children can also get into the celebratory spirit with a visit to Modesh World, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year with all-new rides and attractions for 2024.
