Pakistani expat wins Dh100,000 in UAE Lottery after 20 years in the UAE

A Pakistani expat who has lived in the UAE for nearly two decades has struck gold, winning Dh100,000 in the UAE Lottery’s Lucky Chance category.

Abdul Salam, who has been working in the UAE since 2005, said the win came as a long-awaited blessing.
“I have been working here since 2005. It’s almost 20 years now,” Salam said at the UAE Lottery studio.

Salam revealed that he began participating in the UAE Lottery a year ago.
“I found out from the radio news introducing the UAE Lottery on the morning show. I heard it there and started buying. I have been buying for almost one year,” he said.

The timely windfall, he noted, will help him manage important family and personal commitments.
“My son will get married and I have surgeries. That’s why I need to pay for all of these,” he said.

Grateful and emotional, Salam said the win feels like a reward after years of hard work. “I won… I have been trying a few times. I have won after 20 years of struggling. So maybe other people can also win. It’s good, thank you very much,” said Salam, who adds to the growing list of expat winners in the UAE Lottery.
