An Indian expat in the UAE is celebrating the windfall of a lifetime after matching all six numbers in the Lucky Day category of the UAE Lotterybeating staggering odds of 1 in 803,216 to claim a Dh1 million prize.

Jagan Babu Varghese, a UAE resident for more than 14 years, is still processing the life-changing moment that turned an ordinary day into pure magic.
“I found about the UAE Lottery on social media. Then I registered and started playing. At last, I won Dh1 million,” he said, still sounding stunned.

‘I was at the church’

The moment of discovery came in the most unexpected way.
“I was at the church, and afterwards I came home. Then, I just checked my mobile. Then I thought of checking these numbers because the draw was already over,” he recalled. “So, I just checked and numbers started matching. I called my wife and told her to just check it with me.”

‘No way! How can it happen?’

What followed was a mix of disbelief and pure adrenaline. “No way! How can it happen?” his wife exclaimed as they cross-checked the numbers again. Each time, the result was the same – they had truly won.
“Then she believed it. I can only say it’s a miracle. It’s a chance, it’s luck. Till now, it hasn’t sunk into my mind that I am a millionaire. Suddenly a huge amount is coming. Really, it’s a miracle.”

‘I can achieve my dreams’

For Varghese, the victory isn’t just about money, it’s about dreams finally within reach. His first priority is his children’s future.
“I plan to use the money for my kids’ future first of all. I have to give them good education. Then I have buy a present for my wife.”

But there’s more on his wish list.
“I want to travel the world. And I want to live happily. Definitely, I can achieve my dreams,” he said with quiet optimism.
