Missions in Abu Dhabi and Dubai set to welcome community
Pakistani expats in the UAE are gearing up to mark their country’s 78th Independence Day tomorrow, Thursday, August 14, with a host of community events and celebrations.
In Abu Dhabi, the Embassy of Pakistan will host a flag hoisting ceremony at 7 am at the embassy premises. All members of the Pakistani community are invited to attend and join in the patriotic spirit.
In Dubai, the Consulate General of Pakistan will hold its own flag hoisting ceremony at 8:30 am at the consulate premises. The consulate has extended a warm invitation to the Pakistani community to participate in the event, which will feature the national anthem and speeches highlighting the significance of the day.
Both the Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai will remain closed for consular services on August 14 in observance of the Independence Day, and will reopen on Friday, August 15.
The Independence Day festivities began early this year, with a vibrant ‘Emirates Love Pakistan’ event held at Expo City Dubai on Sunday, August 10, where thousands participated in a 12-hour show.
For many in the Pakistani community, August 14 is not only a time to remember the country’s historic journey to independence in 1947 but also an opportunity to celebrate unity, culture, and the close bonds shared with the UAE.
