Kerala expat in Dubai wins Dh80K Big Ticket prize after 33 years

Abu Dhabi: Two Kerala expats – based in Dubai and Bahrain – got lucky in the Big Ticket’s Big Win Contest series draw No. 276 held in Abu Dhabi.

Dubai resident Abooty Thaya Kandoth took home Dh80,000, while Sajeev G.R. from Bahrain bagged Dh130,000, bringing their combined prize total to more than Dh200,000.

Kandoth plans a family vacation

Kandoth, 54, a sales supervisor who has lived in Dubai with his family for 33 years, has been consistently buying tickets on his own for the past decade.

“When I received the winning call, I was overwhelmed with happiness – what’s not to be happy about? After 10 years of trying, luck finally struck, and I still can’t believe it.”

He is now looking forward to a long-awaited family getaway.
“I plan to use the prize money to take my family on a well-deserved vacation.”
Kandoth is already eyeing another chance to win.
“I’m already preparing to purchase another ticket before the end of the month to make the most of the bundle offer. My advice to everyone is to keep trying, you never know when it might be your turn,” Kandoth noted.

Bahrain-based designer bags Dh130,000

Meanwhile, 43-year-old designer Sajeev has been living in Bahrain for 18 years and buying tickets monthly for the past four years as part of a group of 13 friends.
“Receiving the winning call was an incredibly joyful moment. Not just for me, but for our entire group, this win belongs to all of us and our families.”

The group will split the prize equally. As for Sajeev, he’s not done yet.
“I hope to win an even bigger prize in the future. My advice to others is to give Big Ticket a try, it might just be your turn next,” Sajeev said.
