Smiresh, who works in aluminium fabrication, has been Al Ain resident for 17 years
An Indian expat from Kerala has won one of the top prizes in Big Ticket’s Big Win contest.
After trying his luck for years, he had stopped purchasing entries only to resume about six months ago. Now, Smiresh Athikkunnu Parambil Kunchan can’t believe his fortune after winning Dh120,000 in the spin-and-win contest.
Kunchan, a 40-year-old working in aluminium fabrication, has been living in Al Ain for the past 17 years. His family remains back home in Kerala. Six months ago, he began buying tickets again regularly with a group of 16 friends.
“I am overjoyed. Even now I still feel the same excitement when I think about that moment,” he said.
Kunchan will split the prize money equally among his friends, while using his portion to support his family. Despite the win, he says there’s no stopping the group.
“My friends and I have already purchased our next ticket, so we will definitely keep trying our luck. My advice to others is to take part in Big Ticket, you never know when luck might strike.”
Individuals who purchase two or more cash tickets in a single transaction during the promotional period are automatically entered into the contest. The names of confirmed participants are announced on the Big Ticket website on the first day of the month. These participants stand a chance to attend the grand prize day live draw, held on the third day of the month, and bag guaranteed cash prizes of up to Dh150,000 in the spin and win contest.
