Indian expat in Sharjah celebrates Big Ticket win after 8 years of trying

A stroke of luck has brought smiles to an Indian expat in Sharjah after he pocketed Dh50,000 in Big Ticket’s series 277 draw.
Bikrama Sahu, a manager who has been living in the UAE since 2011, has been a regular participant in the monthly draw for the past seven or eight years. His winning ticket, number 240127, purchased on July 16, finally turned his persistent hope into reality.
“I couldn’t believe that my name was there,” Sahu recalled, still in awe of the moment when he discovered his win through the Big Ticket website and confirmation email.

Though his family resides in the UAE, his daughter recently returned to India to pursue her university studies. As a dedicated participant, Sahu often buys tickets with a close-knit group of five to six friends, but sometimes he plays on his own.
“Every month I am purchasing, and I’m actually on the way to buy tickets today,” he said with a smile.

For Sahu, Big Ticket is more than just a game of luck.
“Big Ticket is changing lives one person at a time,” he said, hopeful that many more will get to experience the joy of winning.
