Abu Dhabi: Big Ticket Abu Dhabi is inviting community members to vote for the shortlisted wishes in Dear Big Ticket Season 3. Five heartfelt wishes, drawn from real-life struggles and dreams, have been shortlisted across different categories. From education to family reunions, these stories speak of hope, sacrifice and resilience.

Paused studies

One of the finalists is Kajol Shree Ravichandran, 24, who paused her education to support her family after her father fell into debt trying to help a relative.
“We’re hoping life gets better one day,” said the Sharjah resident from Tamil Nadu, India, wishing to complete her studies and ease her family’s burden.

Drowning in debt

Muhammed Shabeeb, an accountant in Ras Al Khaimah, dreams of lifting the financial weight off his family back in Kerala. Every dirham he and his brother earn goes into repaying a housing loan. “It’s been a long time since I went home,” he said, hoping to reunite with loved ones – debt-free.

Reunion with son

Veronica Angwen, a mother from Uganda based in Abu Dhabi, longs to be with her four-year-old son, who she left in the care of his 63-year-old grandmother. “Since I have missed most of his birthdays, I would want to be there for his birthday,” she said through tears.

Baby still battling

Karim Ullah Khan, a Sharjah-based Pakistani expat and an aviation consultant, highlighted the emotional journey of his premature baby, Khalifa. Born at just 713gms, Khalifa spent two months in NICU and now needs multiple surgeries.
“He taught me to smile in tough times,” Karim noted.

Empowering women

And finally, Sayed Sabor, a businessman from Afghanistan, wants to launch a cloud kitchen – not for profit, but to empower women who cook at home by giving them a platform to grow. “When we share happiness, it increases,” the Dubai resident said with a smile.

How to cast your vote

The public can vote for their favourite wish at dearbigticket.ae until August 24. Each week, two of these dreamers will receive Dh100,000 to bring their vision to life and voters stand a chance to win Big Tickets too. Winners will be announced between September 1 and 15.
