Sharjah Civil Defence teams swiftly contained a fire that broke out earlier today at an industrial facility in the Al Saja’a area, which stored flammable petrochemical and fiberglass materials.

The blaze posed a serious threat due to the hazardous substances involved.

Quick action and coordinated efforts by firefighting units ensured the fire was brought under control before it could spread to adjacent buildings. Crews battled heavy smoke and high temperatures, successfully preventing casualties and protecting nearby structures.

Authorities received the emergency call at 3:40 PM, with firefighting teams arriving on-site by 3:48pm. The situation was fully contained by 4:42pm—within just one hour of the alert.

The fire impacted two warehouses belonging to separate companies—one dealing in fiberglass products and the other in chemicals. Materials involved included diesel, chemicals, and fiberglass.

Officials urged the public to report emergencies without delay and reminded residents to call 997 in case of fire or related incidents.
