Dubai: A woman was saved from drowning at Dubai Marina Beach, thanks to swift action by two police officers.

The officers rescued the women within five minutes of receiving the emergency call. The police officers were also honoured for their promot rescue response and saving lif of the woman.

Brigadier Dr Hassan Suhail, Director of the Ports Police Station, lauded the commitment of both Corporal Amjad Muhammad Al Balushi and Corporal Khamis Muhammad Al Aisai from the Marine Security Department to ensure the safety and security of the community.

Brig. Suhail commended Al Balushi and Al Aisai for their bravery and quick response, risking their lives to save the European woman from drowning. He lauded their exceptional performance, which has enhanced the reputation of Dubai Police and underscored their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of residents and visitors in Dubai.

Incident

Brigadier Suhail said that the Command and Control Centre at the General Department of Operations received a report about a European woman who was in danger of drowning while swimming at Marina Beach.

“Within five minutes of receiving the report, the marine security patrol on duty arrived at the scene, rescued the woman, and provided immediate assistance until the ambulance arrived,” he said.

Appreciation

Brig. Suhail presented the officers with certificates of appreciation for their heroic efforts. He emphasised that this recognition aims to inspire and encourage all Dubai Police personnel to continue providing excellent services to the community. He highlighted that bravery and self-sacrifice are core values in police work and integral to the training and development of police officers.

The officers expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Dubai Police leadership for this thoughtful gesture and their ongoing support of all personnel.

Safety Guidelines

Brigadier Suhail urged beach and pool-goers to adhere to safety guidelines. He stressed the importance of not swimming if unable to do so, not leaving children unattended in the water, swimming only in designated areas, swimming only when a lifeguard is present, wearing appropriate swimwear, avoiding swimming under the influence of drugs or alcohol, refraining from reckless behaviour in the water, not swimming immediately after eating, and only swimming in designated night-swimming areas after sunset.

Colonel Ali Al Naqbi, Deputy Director of the Ports Police Statio, Major Ali Hamid Bin Harb Al Shamsi, Head of the Marine Security Section, and Major Saeed Khalifa Al Mazrouei, Head of the General Shift Section, also attended the ceremony.
