Global Village gold bar challenge in Dubai: How to win Dh2,900 in 29 seconds

Dubai: With Global Village extending its closing date for the season until May 18, visitors can still win many prizes at one of the UAE’s most popular family attractions. The prizes include Dh2,900 in cash — in just 29 seconds.

This is possible through the “Ultimate Golden Bar Challenge,” which runs daily during the final weeks of Season 29.

After extending the season by one more week, Global Village in Dubai confirmed that the popular challenge would also continue through the last week.

It has also released a video showing guests trying and winning instant cash through the fun game.

All that visitors need to do for a chance to be one of the daily winners is remove a golden bar from a glass box in 29 seconds or less.

There will be up to three lucky winners every day — or the challenge continues until the clock runs out, whichever comes first.

The daily contest is held at the Falcon Stage within the all-new Restaurant Plaza.

The challenge runs daily during the final week until Sunday, May 18, from 8pm to 10pm.

Global Village announced a total prize pool of Dh87,000 in cash through the Golden Bar Challenge, which began on April 29.

Participation is open to all guests visiting Global Village during the term. Only guests aged 18 and above are eligible to participate in the challenge. Guests must download the Global Village mobile application and either register or complete their profile information to be eligible for participation. Participants must complete the challenge as instructed by on-ground staff.

As Season 29 comes to an end, Global Village says it continues its efforts to elevate the guest experience by offering exceptional activities and entertainment — remaining committed to creating a “More Wonderful World” for all.

Other attractions continuing through the extended final week include promotional offers and three nights of its popular fireworks.

These include the ‘Kids Go Free’ offer, allowing children under 12 to enter the park free of charge, as well as the ‘Carnaval offer,’ which provides unlimited rides in the Carnaval area for just Dh50.

Additionally, a fireworks display will light up the skies above the destination to celebrate the grand finale this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

"Guests are invited to enjoy their final opportunity to visit the park and indulge in end-of-season shopping, savour favourite treats from over 250 dining options, catch the latest shows on the Main Stage and Kids’ Theatre, and make the most of the rides and games at Carnaval, Exo Planet City, and Neon Galaxy – Challenge Zone,” Global Village stated.

To mark the extension, Global Village has also adjusted its opening hours. For the final week of the season, the park will remain open from 4pm to 1am daily. Typically, Global Village operates from 4pm to 12am from Sunday to Wednesday, and until 1am from Thursday to Saturday.

The current season began on October 16, 2024, welcoming millions of visitors from across the UAE and beyond.

Since its debut in 1997 with just a few retail kiosks, Global Village has grown into one of Dubai’s leading seasonal outdoor attractions. This year’s edition brings together over 90 cultures across 30 pavilions, along with more than 175 rides, games, and attractions — offering a celebration of diversity, entertainment, and global culture for all ages.
