Dubai: Two people died, and ten others were injured in a collision accident Tuesday morning between 3 buses on Al Khail road, Dubai Police said. The accident occurred due to a sudden swerve of the bus driver from its lane, police added. The bus then collided with the other two buses travelling in their correct lane.
According to a Dubai Police official, the accident happened at 6.30AM on Tuesday. Brigadier Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, Director of Traffic Department at Dubai police, went to the accident scene with other senior officials and ambulances.
“Driver of a bus swerved suddenly to the left lane and collided with a bus. Due to the impact of the accident, the bus swerved to the right and crashed the third bus before hitting the road’s barrier and flipped-over,” Brig. Al Mazroui said.
“The injured passengers sustained injuries between minor to severe injuries.”
Brig. Al Mazroui warned of sudden swerving, and being distracted while driving, especially on highways.
“Most accidents happened due to such mistakes. People should drive carefully and follow traffic instructions to maintain their lives and others,” Brig. Al Mazroui added.
