Abu Dhabi launches watering, nesting initiative to protect birds from summer heat

Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi has launched a new environmental initiative to protect birds from the sweltering summer heat by providing special facilities for water and nests for them.

The bird watering and nest building initiative will see the Abu Dhabi City Municipality installing bird nests, and watering and feeding stations, for birds across the capital city.

In a statement on social media, the municipality said the initiative promotes the emirate’s environmental and biological diversity. The post also includes pictures of installed wooden nests, and hanging feeding and water stations.
