Abu Dhabi book lovers will welcome the news that the House of Prose, well-known to serious readers in the Gulf as the place to go to to buy and sell used books, is now open for business at Al Hosn Plaza.

The House of Prose is the brainchild of owner Mike McGinley who opened the first shop in Muscat eight years ago and followed up with a branch in Dubai four years later. Now, manager Darrel Dickie and his assistant Elaine Lumley are welcoming a steady stream of delighted customers to the light, bright new shop with its wide range of titles.

"I'm so pleased that the shop has opened in the capital," said an avid reader Anna Heap. "Now I won't have to travel to Dubai to stock up." Anna Heap has been taking advantage of the no-hassle policy of buying back books for half the selling price for quite some time now. A very old customer, she remembers visiting the shop in Muscat soon after it opened.
It is a very economical way of buying books. There are plenty of up-to-date titles and you never have to worry about gathering piles of unwanted books.

The large section for children is likely to be a major attraction with young readers already browsing through a wide selection of favourites, all available at pocket-money friendly prices.
