Warning: Dust, poor visibility to hit some parts in UAE

Dubai: It's another hot, dusty and hazy weather today.

Some parts of UAE are expected to experience blowing dust and poor visibility today, Wednesday, as winds move through the country, according to the latest forecast.

Wednesday will also remain hot and hazy, especially during daytime, although some clouds are likely to form.

The good news is that temperatures seem to be mellowing out, with the highest readings expected to touch only 38 degrees Celsius, a relief from Monday’s  high of nearly 50 degrees Celsius.

The day's lowest minimum temperature recorded so far was 22 degrees Celsius in Al FarFar at 3:30am.

From 8:30 am to 1pm, fresh southeasterly winds will cause dust and sand to blow over some locations, especially the ones that are exposed, according to the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS).

“Light to moderate winds in general, freshening at times causing blowing dust and sand during daytime. Sea will be moderate, maybe coming rough at times by morning in the Arabian Gulf and slight to moderate in Oman Sea,” said the latest weather bulletin.

The UAE’s weather bureau saw temperatures in some parts of UAE swinging between 48.1 degrees Celsius and above 49 degrees Celsius last Monday, August 27, one of the hottest days of the summer.

Temperatures soared to 51.5 degrees Celsius in July, said to be the hottest this year.
