Dubai: UAE residents have just endured another one of the hottest days of the summer, with temperatures in some parts hovering near 50 degrees Celsius on Monday.

The UAE’s weather bureau saw the maximum temperatures in certain locations swinging between  48.1 degrees Celsius and above 49 degrees Celsius yesterday, August 27.

The highest was recorded at 49.7 degrees in the area over Mezaira near Liwa, Abu Dhabi at 2.30pm, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCMS).

Tuesday will remain hot and hazy during daytime, although the highest temperature is expected to touch 45 degrees Celsius at 11am, slightly lower than the previous day's high.

Early morning temperatures also dropped to their lowest level of 23.1 degrees at 6am.

There will be some clouds appearing eastward and the relative humidity will increase during the night and early morning over some coastal and internal areas.

Weather forecasters are also expecting “light to moderate winds in general, freshening by night over sea and causing blowing dust over some exposed areas.”

In July, the highest maximum temperatures reached 51.5 degrees Celsius also in Mezaira, Abu Dhabi.
