Dubai: September is just around the corner and it’s supposed to signal the start of another season, but UAE residents aren’t waving goodbye to sizzling sunshine just yet.

Dubai, Abu Dhabi and the rest of UAE will continue to bask in hot and hazy weather during daytime today, Friday, and throughout the weekend, forecasters have said.

However, temperatures are moving away from highs of above 40 degrees Celsius, with today’s readings expected to hit a maximum of 38 degrees Celsius, a far cry from Monday’s near 50 degrees.

Humidity levels before sunset are forecast to reach as much as 70 per cent and climb higher to 84 per cent in the evening.

Friday will also be slightly less hotter.

Temperature are set to inch down to 36 degrees Celsius, although it will be humid in places along the coasts, especially for the rest of Friday morning, according to the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS).

Saturday, meanwhile, will be hot and hazy at times during daytime.

For Saturday, temperatures will touch 38 degrees Celsius during daytime and 33 degrees Celsius in the evening.

The scorching summer heat was earlier forecast to ease this week.

Last Monday, the highest temperature was recorded at 49.7 degrees Celsius in the area over Mezaira near Liwa, Abu Dhabi at 2:30pm.
