Dubai: After smashing six sixes and winning hearts on the cricket field, Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh is now serving up comfort food and warm memories at his newly launched restaurant in Gurugram, New Delhi.

According to reports, the chic, multi-cuisine space serving comfort food like Dal Khichdi (lentils and rice stewed together) is Yuvi’s first foray into hospitality — a growing trend among Indian cricketers.

Virat Kohli, for instance, co-owns a popular Mumbai-based restaurant, which has since expanded to cities like Pune and Delhi.

Meanwhile, Suresh Raina opened his restaurant in Amsterdam, offering a slice of India abroad. Cricketers such as Zaheer Khan and Sachin Tendulkar have also previously explored the F&B space.

In a recent interview with Curly Tales, Singh who's also a cancer survivor claimed his restaurant, however, is uniquely personal. Pictures of him with his Bollywood star wife Hazel Keech are already doing the rounds.

Going by the videos of his new restaurant, the place boasts a carefully curated menu, reflecting Yuvraj’s taste and journey.

Apart from his all-time favourite kadhi chawal (lentil curry and rice) being a star dish, the menu boasts specialties from different parts of the globe. If you have been to his restaurant, tell us on readers@gulfnews.com about what you thought of his new innings.
