Nana and her mother restrained an intruder at home; both hospitalised after the attack.
South Korean actress and K-pop singer Nana, alongside her mother, successfully resisted a home intruder, BBC reported, citing local media.
A man in his 30s reportedly broke into the star’s Guri residence around 6 am (local time), armed and demanding money, threatening both women.
Despite the danger, Nana (real name Im Jin-ah), 34, and her mother managed to physically restrain the intruder until police arrived. Both were taken to hospital for treatment after the confrontation, with Nana sustaining injuries and her mother briefly losing consciousness, Yonhap reported.
Authorities later confirmed the suspect was arrested on charges of attempted aggravated robbery. A detective told AFP that the man had entered the home intending to steal valuables.
Nana’s agency, Sublime, acknowledged the seriousness of the incident, saying: “During the physical attack by the assailant, Nana’s mother suffered a critical injury and lost consciousness. Nana herself was also hurt while trying to escape the crisis. At present, both individuals are in need of medical treatment and complete rest.”
The agency added it would continue to support the family while authorities investigate the case.
The break-in follows a string of recent security incidents involving South Korean celebrities.
Comedian Park Na Rae experienced a major theft earlier this year at her Yongsan residence, with valuables stolen and later recovered.
BTS member Jungkook reported a trespassing incident in August, confronting a woman attempting to access his parking lot, which he monitored via CCTV.
These incidents have heightened public concern about the safety of high-profile figures.
Nana rose to fame in 2009 as part of the girl group After School before transitioning to acting. She has appeared in notable TV dramas, including Kill It and Justice (2019), and Netflix’s Glitch (2022). Nana released her first solo album in September 2025.
