Dubai: A staff member at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital has been arrested for covertly recording a private video of veteran actor Dharmendra inside the hospital’s ICU, in a serious breach of patient confidentiality.

The unauthorised clip, which captured the 89-year-old actor on a hospital bed with his sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol by his side, was circulated online without the family’s consent.

The leak triggered widespread concern and raised questions about hospital privacy protocols.

Dharmendra, who had been admitted following a deterioration in his health, was discharged on November 12, 2025. In the aftermath of the incident, the Deol family appealed for restraint and requested privacy while the actor recovers at home.

Authorities confirmed that the hospital employee responsible for recording and sharing the footage has been taken into custody. Breach Candy Hospital has also initiated an internal investigation to ensure stricter safeguards and prevent similar violations in the future.

The Deol family remains focused on the actor’s recuperation and has urged the media and public to respect their privacy during this sensitive period.
