Dubai: Dubai’s flagship carrier, Emirates, has officially launched ‘Emirates First’ – a new check-in area at Terminal 3 of its home base, Dubai International (DXB). The facility is dedicated to its First-Class customers and Skywards Platinum members.

The airline, which boasts the largest international First-Class inventory globally, has been investing heavily in enhancing the passenger experience. The First-Class check-in area at DXB has been closed for refurbishment for some time now.

The new facility, unveiled by the airline on Friday, aims to redefine luxury airport services by offering a private and serene environment separate from the bustling main terminal.

Passengers will now enter through a grand golden entryway where an Emirates host will verify their eligibility, leading them into a meticulously designed space.

“We invest heavily in upgrading our ground products, and Emirates First is one of the areas that will offer a unique and private environment to our First-Class customers and Skywards Platinum members,” said Adel al Redha, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Operating Officer.

He added that the new offering addresses customer demand for privacy and convenience, elevating the check-in process to a new level of hospitality.

Style and serenity

The aesthetic of Emirates First is a deliberate departure from typical airport environments. The check-in space has been designed with a neutral palette of warm earth tones, accented by Emirates’ signature bronze and gold. The marble flooring is complemented by plush carpeting in seating areas, furnished with soft leather and fabric armchairs.

The renowned Emirates’ Rolex clocks adorn a feature wall, alongside extravagant fresh flower arrangements. A magnificent backlit Ghaf Tree, honouring the UAE’s national tree, mirrors the iconic interiors of Emirates’ newest aircraft. Notably, all digital screens and advertising have been removed, replaced by soft, integrated lighting and natural greenery to foster a tranquil environment.

What to expect?

Understanding the value of time for its premium clientele, Emirates First offers a streamlined check-in process. Passengers can complete formalities on iPads while comfortably seated, with dedicated staff on hand to assist.

Families can check in together, with one member managing the process for all. Traditional check-in counters are also available, featuring eye-catching marble and brass desks with dedicated First-Class baggage belts.

Following check-in, passengers can swiftly proceed through security and immigration before heading to one of the three dedicated Emirates First Class Lounges in Terminal 3, DXB. These lounges offer chef-crafted à la carte meals, fine wines, spirits, Champagne, complimentary spa treatments, business centres, kids’ areas, and concierge duty-free shopping.

The introduction of Emirates First is the latest in a series of investments aimed at enhancing the First-Class experience. Earlier this year, Emirates announced a range of in-flight enhancements, including keepsake menus detailing wine selections and culinary inspirations, new Emirates-engraved Robert Welch bowls for unlimited caviar, and rustic cheeseboard slates.

First Class cabin crew now also provide a gloved service, underscoring the airline’s commitment to exceptional hospitality.
