Dubai: UAE flagship carrier Emirates has secured a spot in the world’s top five airlines, according to the 2025 Skytrax World Airline Awards.

The rankings, revealed during the Paris Air Show, placed Qatar Airways in the No.1 position, followed by Singapore Airlines and Cathay Pacific. Emirates came in fourth, reaffirming its place among the global elite.

The awards are based on the opinions of more than 22 million passengers worldwide, and highlight excellence in cabin service, onboard experience, staff hospitality and innovation.

While Qatar Airways took home the top title for a record ninth time, Lufthansa was recognised as the World’s Most Family-Friendly Airline. The German carrier also received the award for Best First Class Lounge at its dedicated terminal in Frankfurt. Austrian Airlines and Eurowings earned recognition for Best Airline Staff in Europe and Best Low-Cost Airline in Europe, respectively.

For UAE travellers, the high placement of Emirates reflects both loyalty and satisfaction with the airline’s service levels across long-haul routes and premium cabins. The recognition comes as Emirates continues to roll out enhancements such as its Premium Economy cabins and upgraded inflight entertainment.
