Dubai: A private hospital in Al Ain has roped in a group of 30 artists to make sketches of their surroundings in the spirit of Ramadan, with the result that the exercise yielded 30 perspectives of the healthcare facility.

Dr Arun Menon, director of operations at Medeor 24x7 International Hospital, Al Ain, said, “As part of our efforts to promote art and talent in the UAE during Ramadan, we joined hands with Urban Sketchers Dubai.

“The talent shown by the artists was amazing and it was interesting to see different angles and concepts of the hospital being showcased through their perspective.”

Manupriam, founder of Urban Sketchers Dubai, the Dubai chapter of the international Urban Sketchers Organisation which promotes on-location sketches, said the group comprised talent of all levels – from beginners to professional architects and artists. “The on-location sketches we came up with were very varied, covering not just the hospital’s exteriors, but also its elegant interiors,” added Manupriam.

The hospital selected three winners. “It was a tough task to choose the best three sketches. To us, everyone was a winner,” said Dr Menon.

The sketches showcased the hospital’s modern structure based on the historic Bastakiya architecture.

They also celebrated the 2018 Year of Zayed and portrayed the founding father’s love and vision for the nation.
