Dubai: Just days after a horrific collision claimed the lives of 19 young women in Egypt’s Monufia Governorate, tragedy has struck again on the same regional road. A deadly crash on Saturday left nine people dead and 11 others injured.

According to Egypt’s Ministry of Health, the latest accident involved two passenger minibuses that collided on the Regional Ring Road, which connects Cairo to the Alexandria Desert Road. Initial reports confirmed nine fatalities and 11 injuries, as emergency services rushed to the scene.

In an official statement, the ministry said that 18 ambulances equipped with advanced medical equipment were immediately dispatched, transporting the injured to Al Bagour Specialized Hospital for urgent care.

Health Minister Khalid Abdul Ghaffar closely monitored the situation and ordered all nearby hospitals to raise their state of emergency. He also directed medical teams to provide full support to the injured, including psychological care for both survivors and the families of the victims.

This incident comes just one day after another devastating crash on the same road in Ashmoun, Monufia, where 19 people — most of them young female day labourers — were killed when a truck slammed into a passenger vehicle. Two others were critically injured. Authorities have since arrested the driver responsible for that crash after he fled the scene.
