Dubai: Three Jordanian children were killed and their parents injured in a road accident in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, while the family was travelling back to Jordan from Qatar, the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has confirmed.
In an official statement, the ministry said the accident occurred during the family’s journey by road. The Directorate of Operations and Consular Affairs is coordinating with the Jordanian Embassy in Riyadh and Saudi authorities to facilitate the repatriation of the children’s bodies and ensure the parents receive necessary medical care.
Ambassador Dr. Sufyan Al Qudah, spokesperson for the ministry, extended his condolences to the grieving family. He confirmed that the parents sustained moderate injuries and are currently receiving treatment in hospital.
The ministry, he added, has been in close contact with the relevant Saudi authorities since the incident and is actively working to arrange the transfer of the children’s remains to Jordan.
