Abu Dhabi: The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has completed renovation work on a dormitory and furnished it, in the Governorate of Shabwa in Yemen. The move is part of 15 vital development projects being implemented on the directives of Her Highness Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union (GWU), Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Honorary Chairwoman of the ERC. The directives aim to improve healthcare, educational and sheltering services provided to those affected by the ongoing events in Yemen.

The ERC said the project, the fifth in the series of Shaikha Fatima’s initiatives in Yemen, will serve 200 students. Students benefiting from the project thanked Shaikha Fatima for the initiative, which they said would improve their learning environment

and support their academic stability. They said that the project had put an end to their suffering as most of them come from outside the governorate and face challenging situations to reach the school, especially during these dangerous times. They also credited the ERC for implementing the project in record time.
