Sana'a, Yemen: Iranian sailors caught and arrested off of the coast of Yemen last week, had thrown over board their mobile phones and laptops, before their arrest, investigators said on Friday.

"The Iranian crew of the ship  destroyed their mobile SIM cards and all documents in their laptops and some of the ship's devices so that no one could discover where the ship came from and where it was going," the state-run media quoted an unidentified investigator as saying.

The Iranian ship stocked with weapons was intercepted on October 26 off of the Midi Harbour coast. The six-member crew of five Iranians and one Indian, are currently in custody by Yemeni authorities.

A team of experts sent from the capital are in Midi investigating the matter. Midi Harbour is only a few kilometers way from Al Malahaid province, which has become the western frontline for fighting between Al Houthi rebels and government forces.
