Eastern region, northern borders, Riyadh, Mecca and Medina to be hit
Dubai: Saudi Arbia’s National Centre for Meteorology has forecast hot to extremely hot weather conditions this week across parts of the Eastern Region, Northern Borders, Riyadh, Mecca, and Medina.
In addition to soaring temperatures, dust-stirring winds are expected to sweep through these areas, as well as the regions of Al Jouf, Tabuk and Hail, potentially affecting visibility and outdoor conditions.
Meanwhile, thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds are anticipated over the southwestern highlands, raising the possibility of sudden weather changes and localised hazards.
Over the Red Sea, northwesterly to westerly winds will range from 20 to 40 km/h, with waves expected to reach heights of one to two meters, though the sea will remain relatively calm.
In the Arabian Gulf, northwesterly to westerly winds are forecast at speeds of 15 to 35 km/h.
Waves will range from half a meter to one and a half meters, with generally calm sea conditions prevailing.
