Motorist involved in hit-and-run killing of traffic policeman arrested
Dubai- A driver, who involved in a hit –and- run accident, killing a traffic policeman in Riyadh on Friday, has been arrested.
The motorist who ran over the policeman and killed him on the spot, has been identified as a Saudi citizen in his 20s,The young Saudi suspect has been referred to the Public Prosecution, among other regulatory measures implemented on him, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) quoted Lt. Col. Shaker Sulaiman Al Tuwaijri, the official spokesman of the Riyadh Region Police.
“The suspect fled the crime scene right after the accident and hided in a residential unit in western Riyadh after changing his vehicle’s features to mislead security authorities” he said, adding the victim was run over while he was carrying out his duties on Friday morning,
The suspect was driving a Chevrolet Caprice, when he hit the policeman. The vehicle been seized,” the spokesperson added.
