Dubai: Paramedics in the Saudi port city of Jeddah carried out a dramatic life-saving intervention after a woman went into cardiac and respiratory arrest shortly after giving birth, Okaz Arabic daily reported.

The woman had delivered her baby in stable condition before the ambulance arrived but soon suffered severe bleeding that led to exhaustion and then a complete cardiac arrest. In those critical moments, the emergency team began advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation under the remote guidance of a physician via medical communication. After sustained efforts, they were able to restore her heartbeat and stabilize her condition.

The newborn remained healthy throughout. Officials said the intervention highlighted the readiness of Saudi Red Crescent paramedics to manage complex emergencies, where rapid response and rigorous training can mean the difference between life and death.
