Abu Dhabi: A Saudi woman and her two daughters narrowly escaped death after their vehicle plunged off a mountain road north of Muhayil, a governorate in Asir Region, local media reported.

The passengers sustained various injuries and fractures and were admitted to the Muhayil hospital.

The woman told Sabaq, she was driving her children at 6.50pm, with her seat belt buckled and girls in the back seat, when the vehicle plunged off a mountain road.

“The car fell from a height, equivalent to that of a three-story building, but we miraculously survived, praise be to Almighty Allah,” she said. “We were extracted from among a pile of iron of our vehicle by the civil defense men, and we were transported to Muhayil General Hospital after we sustained various injuries and fractures.”

Civil Defence, Traffic and Red Crescent personnel rushed to the scene.

The woman said the one-lane road was asphalted by the municipality.

She appealed to municipal authorities to immediately build barriers to prevent cars from falling.
