Cairo: Police in the Saudi capital Riyadh hd arrested a man after he placed a butane gas cylinder inside an ATM room, the Interior Ministry said Friday.

The ministry added that security agencies had received an alert that an unidentified man had put the cylinder inside the room linked to a bank and switched on the cylinder before leaving for an unknown destination.

A video released by the ministry shows the man rolling the cylinder onto the room.

Police said they had identified and arrested the suspect who is a Saudi man in his 50s.

He admitted to the act and will be referred to public prosecution for further questioning.

No clear motive has been given for the act.
