Dubai: Tourist visas that expired due to the suspension of international flights in the wake of the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic will be extended automatically free of charge for three months, the General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) said in a statement carried by Saudi Press Agency, SPA.

The move, implemented in collaboration with the National Information Centre, comes as part of the kingdom’s continuous efforts to mitigate the economic fallout of precautionary measures taken to prevent the spread of coronavirus and to ensure the health and safety of citizens and residents alike.

The ministry added that tourist visas will be extended automatically for three months through the system with the help of the NIC without the need for visa holders to visit Jawazat headquarters.
