Cairo: Saudi health authorities have suspended an expatriate dentist from practicing due to multiple medical errors, marking the latest such action. The Ministry of Health stated that the suspension followed findings of serious blunders by the dentist in Riyadh and Tabuk regions.

The dentist exceeded the scope of his specialisation by performing dental implants and prosthetics, violating health regulations and endangering patients.

The ministry emphasised its commitment to rigorous inspections of healthcare facilities across the kingdom, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and professionalism. It also warned of penalties and fines for violators of health profession rules.

In a broader crackdown on malpractice, the ministry previously took action against five healthcare workers in Riyadh and the Eastern Province for "gross breaches of professional ethics," including misusing social media. In one case, a practitioner shared a video showing a patient's body inappropriately.

Violations of the Saudi anti-cybercrime law can result in prison sentences of up to five years and fines of up to SR3 million for content that breaches public morals.
